Cleethorpes is linked to Grimsby and is a popular resort
especially in the summer and during school holidays. Discover the joys of
this traditional British seaside resort, sandy beaches, donkey rides,
promenade gardens full of bright flowers, a paddling pool, a boating lake,
a light railway and open top buses running along the sea front. Not
forgetting the delights of Candy Floss, Toffee Apples, Hot Dogs and
Do-nuts and of course the traditional seaside rock candy.
Cleethorpes has modern attractions such as a Theme Park, a Lazer Quest and a Bowling
Alley. A leisure centre with a water splash and waves or Fantasy World, an
indoor wonderland for the younger children. Discover the local wildlife at
the Discovery Centre where you can relax and watch the comings and goings
on the Humber Estuary or view all the sunbathers from the pier.
Cleethorpes has some excellent walking and cycling as it is so flat and
has a delightful narrow gauge railway which is perfect for the kids (of
all ages!).
Cleethorpes has a modern multiplex cinema and an indoor play towers
were toddlers and children can play when the sun isn't shining, if it is
shining though - get them on the beach. Cleethorpes has miles and
miles of golden sand and Blue flag beaches - fun for all ages.
At the opposite end of Cleethorpes away from the pier is the Fitties, a
small community of quaint chalets and holiday homes. Here the sand gives
way in parts to dunes - there are some small lakes here which attract many
bird species and also a yachting club.
Don't miss the Cleethorpes Light Railway and
Discovery Centre and the National Fishing Heritage Museum in
Grimsby.
